Chamonix
One of the most popular resorts of the alps with about 5 million visitors a year. The area is a haven for almost all types of outdoor activity, especially in their more extreme variants (ice climbing, rock climbing, extreme skiing, rafting, canyoning...).
As the highest mountain in alps (4808m), the Mont Blanc is in the summer months a mecca for alpine mountaineers.
